our first annual Women’s Business Showcase and brunch with exciting displays, presentations from women business owners about their journeys to ownership, the challenges, successes, and support along the way.

Our keynote speaker is Tameka Montgomery, President and CEO of Core Strategy Partners Inc.
Previously, Tameka served as an appointee of President Obama leading the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Entrepreneurial Development and driving entrepreneurship training programs and policies that supported this nation’s 28 million small businesses.

The doors will open at 9am for 3 hours of Women Empowering Women on the La Plata College of Southern Maryland Campus, in the Business and Industry (BI) Building – Rooms 113 and 113E.  FOMO-mosa’s all around!

This FREE workshop is for those who are interested in starting their first business, but want to find out more information on what to expect before they begin their first business. SBDC staff will share with you what to anticipate when starting a new business including, resources to help you navigate information about legal and licensing requirements, the business plan, different financing options, preparing a marketing strategy and all the perks and drawbacks that come with the life of an entrepreneur.
