Historic St. Mary’s City Museum Event Calendar

It is starting to feel like spring. If you would like to enjoy some time outside come visit the museum tomorrow for May Day. We are expecting wonderful weather and time on the banks of the St. Mary’s River are magical in the spring. Remember members, this event is free for you. So bring the family and step back in time with a Maypole, dancing, crafts and so much more. See below for information about the event.

Tonight you can enjoy a wine pairing at the Inn at Brome Howard from 7pm – 9pm.

May 7 Little Explorers – Fish!
Learn about the different creatures that swim in the St. Mary’s River. Meet at The Shop at Farthing’s Ordinary. This educational series is designed specifically for pre-school age children ages 3-5 years old and an accompanying adult. Activities may include story-telling, crafts, songs, and outdoor exploration. 10:00 am – 11:00 am

May 9 Annual HSMC Garden Market
find great gifts for Mother’s Day! The Garden Market offers annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, shrubs and herbs on May 9 from 11:00am to 6:00pm at the corner of Route 5 and the south side of Old State House Road, St. Mary’s City. Refreshments will be available from Expressions of St. Mary’s from noon to 2pm.
Proceeds benefit the gardens and horticulture programs at the museum

May 21 Little Explorers – My House!
Do you live in a cabin, apartment, condo, or witchott? We all have different kinds of homes. Meet at the Visitor Center. Later, we’ll visit the Woodland Indian Hamlet and learn about a different living environment.
This educational series is designed specifically for pre-school age children ages 3-5 years old and an accompanying adult. Activities may include story-telling, crafts, songs, and outdoor exploration@ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

May 22 Lecture: Exploring the Archaeology of Providence
Dr. Al Luckenbach, founder and director of the Lost Towns Project and Anne Arundel County Archaeologist, will offer an illustrated lecture about the archaeology of Providence, Maryland’s 1650′s Protestant settlement in Anne Arundel County. @ 7:00 pm

Jun 4 Little Explorers – At the Beach
It’s summer time! Gather at The Shop at Farthing’s Ordinary, then we’ll head to the beach.
