Calvert Nature Society and the Calvert County Natural Resources Division invite you to join us on Sunday, May 7, for Heritage Farm Day at one of our county’s newest parks, the Biscoe Gray Heritage Farm in Prince Frederick. We will be opening the park with a fun-filled day that highlights the natural and cultural history of our county.
Visitors will enjoy naturalist-led nature walks, trace the path of a rolling road, and visit several historical sites on the property, including an African American farmstead. They will learn more about the agricultural tradition of Calvert County, from Native American times to modern day. We also plan to have refreshments and demonstrations such as geocaching, search and rescue dogs, and more.
In addition to regular programs there will be tables or displays from local partners to show the breadth and depth of the natural and agricultural heritage of the county. Learn more about the park at http://www.calvertparks.org/bghf.html. We hope that you will be a part of this day.
We have attached a registration form for the Heritage Farm Day event. Please fill it in and return to Calvert Nature Society no later than April 20, 2017. If you have any partner organizations that you think would be a good fit for the day, please let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.
